Stupid Niaga policy
It was maybe few years ago I opened Saving Account at Niaga Bank. This was suppose for paying Niaga Credit Card bill easily. So it is not really active account. It keeps money for Credit Card billing before transfered for payment. So yesterday I was thinking to get some cash from this account. I was thinking about IDR 5.000.000 amount withdrawal. So I went to Buahbatu Branch and ATM was queued some people. So I thought it would be faster to withdrawl from teller even I had to fill up some forms. That was easy and quick. It was about 30seconds waiting.
At teller counter I was told that Bank will charge for IDR 5000 for every withdrawl under IDR 10.000.000. Off-course I told the lady this is a stupid policy, I mean this is outrages even IDR 5000 it doesnt really much but compare what other banks charge is 5000x. Because I never seen such a Bank charge customer when people withdrawl their money. Off-course some foreign currency account some banks do. But this is acceptable.
So please name me one of others bank that charge customer when they withdrawl some money at teller counter !
Let me know that if I am just little bit lack of information.
These days as you know that bank competition is so tight this stupid policy is the most stupid policy I ever seen for competing banking world…
what do you think ? do you agree that bank charge you some amount when you withdrawl some money from your account ?

This was the first time I heard a negative comment about this bank. But still, all the good comments, mine included, were about the service they gave to the customers. The best; more than anyone could hope for. So far.
As for the withdrawal charge policy, I need to ask around a little or dig from some friends before I can tell. All I know is, Citibank Card charged me for paying credit card bill by cash in their own office, while there’s no additional charge for paying through Panin Bank. I’m a blind man in the banking world, but in my layman’s eyes, direct transactions are supposed to cost less. In your case, the charge is on manual withdrawal while the withdrawal through ATM will cost you no extra charge.
Well, maybe it all will make sense to us someday, or maybe someone will come up with the idea to explain us why, for the sake of PR. For the time being, we can only share and compare experiences.

I am not really satisfied of Niaga Bank services. Well first I had a saving account, VISA and MASTER CC. I was not happy coz every transaction above IDR 2 millions they had to double confirm with card holder. Cammon 2 millions rupiah equals to USD 200 or SGD 400 which is not a big value for something you buy at overseas. Then after aguing with CC Center okay they won, they thought the security come first. Then I have to let both card cutted, anyway their credit limit aslo not so great.
Let you know if you pay Citibank Credit card using Citibank saving account it doesnt cost a cent, you can do the payment from your mobile phone or fixed phone and even your internet banking. Panin subsidise customer charges. So now you will agree that bank cost more to have a teller serving you than an ATM machine right ???
But if any bank would charge a service charge for withdrawing they must provide enought money and enough ATM working .
